About Us

A bright and colorful home-based care located in Brambleton. At Little Toads we provide high standards of preschool education, for diaper trained children aged 3 years – 6 years. Our warm, welcoming and multicultural environment will make any child feel happy, confident, and safe. We give personalized care to each little one. Little Toads has an open communication policy during the day, parents can check in anytime with messages and Facetime.

We offer multi-age activities in a multicultural environment, which are engaging and well-equipped. Education should be an aid to life and our environment aids the process of ‘self-construction’ that children are intensely engaged in during preschool age.

Curriculum

Our little ones learn best in an organized an structured environment which can aid them to make connections with real life. We put together quality play-based activities that fit within our structure and cover a wide array of developmental objectives. Each child is unqiue so we tailored activities to help shape their individuality. We select bi-weekly themes and through themes children are able to develop skills and learn information as much as possible about the topic being studied.

The children will learn about these themes by experimenting and using Montessori learning toys, flash cards, board games puzzles and much more.

English

The child will learn and demonstrate basic knowledge of the alphabetic principle and understand phonics. The child will demonstrate knowledge of print concepts and understand the connection between the spoken and written words by using Montessori learning methods as well as following SOL standards. The child will learn using different materials and various techniques to help them learn to write alphabets, recognize its shapes, sounds, and how to construct them in words. In story time, children will learn to develop connections with stories and also they will learn to identify characters and main ideas. Bob & Scholastic books will be used to develop their reading skills when they are ready.

Math

We work on recognizing number concepts and numerical fluency. Kids will learn the number concept using blocks, beads, and ten frames. They will also learn how to add, subtract, count by, grouping, and units. Having a daily schedule will help the kids develop the skill of time which will help them learn how to tell time. Kids will also learn about sequencing, patterns, and geometric shapes.

Science

Science is always fun to learn by experimenting and discovering results. Kids will learn about a species and its habitat each week. Kids will be watching media content related to the species and will also learn by making a craft/diorama and reading about it. Kids will learn about the planet Earth and people around them, recycle. and earth resources. Each unit will have a unique learning experience.

Arts

We will teach and demonstrate how to use various types of tools like scissors and paint brushes safely.Our goal is to bring out children’s creativeness on the paper using preselected craft materials like cotton balls, construction paper, foam, straws, stamps, glitters, and recyclables.

STEM

I provide customized hands-on learning experience for kids which will help them innvoate, create, and learning on their own. The child will learn to understand, investigate, analyze, and solve provided challenge. Kids will be working in groups which also helps them develop team skills.

Basic skills

Besides our regular learning, children will also learn how to cleanup their work areas and put things back. Children will use polite words, communicate their feelings and how to share workspace. They will learn essential daily skills like taking out and wearing shoes/jacket, using restrooms, and etiquettes during meals. Children will also be doing cognitive, sensory, and motor-skills activities.

Holidays

We follow Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) calendar for public holidays. In addition we are closed 2 days for Eid-ul-Fitr and 1 day for Eid-ul-Adha. Dates vary each year for festivals. For early release or closing due to inclement weather conditions, LCPS announcements should be monitored.
